A large 6,000 seat Local authority based in North London. Large data sets with an existing investment in Symantec Enterprise Vault and NetBackup.
Due to the nature of the customer they had many different platforms that needed to be Backed up and Archived.
Requirement
The customer wanted to really take advantage of their investment with both Symantec Enterprise Vault and NetBackup. Due to a shortness in internal capacity and staff, meant that the backup and archiving platforms were several versions behind and subsequently they were not taking full advantage of the latest and greatest features.
Ageing hardware also meant that the underlying solution needed to be refreshed for supportability with Symantec.
The Local authority approached MirrorSphere based on their success in supporting other local authorities with the Symantec Enterprise level products.
Solution
MirrorSphere provided the Local Authority with a complete redesign of the NetBackup and Enterprise Vault environment. The transition to this new design meant that MirrorSphere carefully planned the operation in order to mitigate any risk or user downtime associated with any migration or upgrade.
Once the environments had bedded down MirrorSphere provided full end to end training of both the environments on the latest and greatest versions to the customer.
The local authority were so happy with the steps that MirrorSphere had taken to improve their environment that they embarked on an annual maintenance contract with MirrorSphere that enabled them to make proactive steps in order to get the best out of their investment.
